Columbia City Manager John Glascock will deliver the annual budget message for fiscal year 2020 on Friday, July 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.
Residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about the proposed budget which will cover the time period of Oct. 1, 2019, through Sept. 30, 2020.
Community members will have the opportunity to make public comment at three City Council meetings before the budget is adopted:
Monday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. (Public hearing)
Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. (Public hearing) Meeting on Tuesday due to the Labor Day Holiday.
Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. (Public hearing and adoption)
A Council work session will be held Monday, Aug. 26 in the Council Chambers beginning at 9 a.m. and the public is encouraged to attend.
The budget message, Council meetings and the work session will all be broadcast live on Spectrum/Charter channel 992, Mediacom channel 80, CenturyLink Prism TV channel 96 and streamed live on CoMo.gov: CoMo.gov/Council/CityStream-Meeting-Video.
Copies of the proposed budget will be available beginning Friday, July 26 after 11 a.m. to view at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, in the Finance Department on the fifth floor or in the City Clerk’s Office on the second floor. The proposed budget will also be posted on CoMo.gov.
