The Scruggs-Vandervoort-Barney Collection comprises almost one hundred paintings and drawings capturing rural and urban life in Missouri in 1946 and 1947. Also called the Heart of the Nation Collection, these works survive as notable records of landscapes, cityscapes, ways of life, and folk traditions from across the state. This exhibition will present a selection of watercolors and drawings, light-sensitive works that cannot be exhibited regularly, in order to enhance the Museum’s ongoing displays of Missouri Regionalism.
Exhibition Dates: Tuesday, May 21, 2019 to Sunday, Oct 27, 2019
