Economic Development in Action

Meet elderberry farmer Tom Algiere. He stopped by our office because he has a bumper crop of elderberries and heard we had a kitchen he could use.

Within hours, he met with our kitchen manager Jamie Davis to learn about freezing and packaging his berries and Root Cellar's Chelsea Davis on a distribution deal in their weekly subscription box.

Interested in processing your own bumper crop? Learn more about The Packing House, a new component of our CoMo Cooks Shared Kitchen designed for local growers interested developing and manufacturing value-added food products. Alongside traditional kitchen equipment we have a vegetable slicer, blast freezer, and bag sealer so farmers have an easy way to process their excess harvest.

If you're a grower, food truck, caterer, or start-up food business, learn more about our affordable shared kitchen at www.comocooks.com.
