We’ve recently established a number of committees to help guide the Loop CID Board on future improvements. While we have a 5-Year Plan, we want your help adding the specifics. If you are interested in serving on any of these committees, please contact us at [email protected].
This committee will oversee the development and implementation of a corridor-wide beautification plan for The Loop; manage the consulting process; conduct community planning sessions; secure grants and other funding for the upgrades; and work to gain support from the public, the city, MODOT, and other stakeholders. Members should have expertise in the area or an affinity for the subject matter.
This committee will be responsible for outreach to the larger community, including government offices, elected officials, neighborhoods, business organizations, non- profits, and the like. Members will attend meetings, offer updates on The Loop, testify at hearings, and generally serve as representatives of the organization. Members should have expertise in the area or an affinity for the subject matter.
This committee will address day-to-day concerns with traffic, landscaping, maintenance, lighting and utility lines, and pedestrian and bike access along The Loop. Members will work with the city, MODOT, and other key stakeholders to ensure that projects along The Loop conform to an overall vision for the street. Members should have expertise in the area or an affinity for the subject matter.
This committee will address issues of public safety, including traffic violations, pedestrian safety, homelessness, and panhandling, and other topics as needed. Members will form a strong working relationship with the Columbia Police Department, the Community Relations officers in the strategic neighborhood to our south, and with the various organizations designed to address these issues. Members should have expertise in the area or an affinity for the subject matter.
This committee will offer input into the development of new marketing strategies, tactics and tools; assist in creating materials and programs that help retain, recruit and incubate new businesses in The Loop; assist in the development and organizing of events and promotions; and help coordinate the overall marketing message for The Loop. Members should have expertise in the area or an affinity for the subject matter.
