We transformed a vacant lot into a community park with the help of Boone Electric Cooperative, Sherwin-Williams, and volunteers with ForColumbia. We now have a place for special events, public gatherings, or lunch with friends. Not only are we activating previously unused space and drawing people to The Loop, it’s proof-of-concept for future development.
The Community Pop Up Park is open for informal gatherings during the week and no application is required–just come by with a sack lunch and some friends. We also encourage groups to host events at the park and have amenities specifically for these events including movable tables and chairs, portable restrooms, a hand washing station, trash cans, and various lawn games. Interested groups can apply via our easy sign-up form.
