MODOT isn’t the only one moving forward with infrastructure projects, the City of Columbia is also making progress on their $2 million USDOT Planning Grant.
Just a reminder, the goal of this process is to conduct a detailed analysis of the street and create engineering documents for a capital improvement project to upgrade the entire corridor. Key elements include better sidewalks, storm water management, beautification elements, and design improvements to intersections, bike lanes, and pedestrian connections.
So far, Great Rivers Engineering has conducted all sorts of detailed surveys of the street using lasers and drones as well as the classic “walking around” approach. Now it’s time for the public to take a look at some of their initial ideas and offer feedback.
So mark your calendars for an open house on Thursday, March 19 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Boone Electric’s Community Room at 1413 Rangeline. And if you can't make it, the presentation documents and a public survey will be available on BeHeard after the meeting.
