The Business Loop has undergone many changes since the original Hwy. 40 and we know that makes redevelopment a bit harder to figure out. The City of Columbia’s Unified Development Code (UDC) adopted in 2017 has also impacted how redevelopment can occur.
To help address this and encourage redevelopment along the corridor, The Loop CID retained Engineering Survey and Services (ESS) to map out existing building setbacks and right of ways (based on the old code) and future building setbacks and right of ways (based on the new UDC).
This information is available to you at no cost and we hope our work here can give you a running start on any new projects you may be considering.
The full map is available for viewing at: https://essinc.maps.arcgis.com/apps/View/index.html?appid=484cb70dff43485484f5bb89695640dd
If you click on your property and click “Request Information”, ESS can provide additional information about your property for an added fee.
We are aware that the new UDC makes redevelopment on some of our smaller lots more difficult but this is the first step to identifying the issues along the street and working on possible solutions together.
