Beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, the City of Columbia Stormwater Utility will close Nebraska Avenue to through traffic east of the intersection with Providence Road as crews relocate a water main.
The Stormwater Utility is conducting infrastructure work at Nebraska Avenue that includes the replacement of undersized storm drain infrastructure and the addition of inlets and piping to reduce street flooding.
Access to all drive approaches will remain open. Weather permitting, the work is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m. on March 5.
Barricades and signs will be present to reroute traffic around the closure.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise caution around the work zone or find alternate routes.
