Art Takes to the Streets

You may have noticed new artwork popping up along the Business Loop and it's all part of our vision for a more attractive and appealing street--and one that celebrates and supports local makers and artisans. This is year two of the Loop Street Art Project and we've got another round of local artists adding some life and color to the street.

The Loop Street Art Project selected 8 local artists and graphic designers, gave them a 4' x 8' canvas, and told them to let their imaginations run wild. We've been slowly placing the artwork along the street and by the end of June, they'll all be up. We're placing them in locations you can see from a car but also where you can pull up, see the artistry up close, and even take a selfie!

We're also updating our online guide to the pieces, the artists, and how their design reflects The Loop--those will be available soon by clicking on Project Map for all the details.

The Street Art Project is part of our Loop Corridor Plan, a 10-year plan to improve and beautify the street. Read more about our plan at theloopcomo.com/build and stay tuned for updates as we install more Street Art.
